Wellsite Geologist


The main function of a Wellsite Geologist – Mudlogger is to monitor and communicate drilling information to the operating company(ies) through the creation of a computer-based log. To accomplish this, data about the drilling operation must be acquired from a number of different sources and transferred to the mudlog which is typically distributed via email twice daily. Interpretation and timely communication of drilling data to the supervising geologist and all members of the drilling team is essential. It is also important to be able to trouble shoot problems that may arise and perform maintenance tasks on MCWL equipment. New employees will be given training and serve in apprentice positions until they acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to produce quality logs. Employment requirements: English fluency, dependable transportation, ability to work away from home for extended periods of time, ability to carry 50 pounds, excellent computer skills (especially with Excel), outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, high school degree or equivalent, ability to pass pre-employment and random drug tests.

Preferred Qualifications: Mudlogging experience, other experience in the oil field and/or with geo-steering, Bachelor's degree or above - particularly in Geology.
